MONCKS CORNER — A former Summerville police officer may be granted bond by the end of the week following a hearing in which his attorney made the first public defense of the man charged with murder.
Circuit Judge Deadra Jefferson made no immediate decision July 15 on whether Anthony DeLustro, 65, should receive bond. DeLustro is charged with murder and attempted kidnapping in the March 20 death of Michael O’Neal, a North Carolina man visiting Summerville for job training.
